Holistic Space Design

The Aesthetics of SensorySpaces
2021

Complementing the scientific statements, we asked the artist himself for input on how he developed the special aesthetics of his "SinnesRäume" and what influences were important there. The result is a new BLOG by SHA. "Holism in interior design". Enjoy reading!

THE AESTHETICS OF SENSORYSPACES

The aesthetics of my spatial art is characterized by a deep need for wholeness. For this I try in my art to combine traditional opposites:

WIDE AND NEAR

The futuristic vastness of space, as it is often perceived in my SinnesRäumen, arises from the primordial human longing for transformation, for immaterial dissolution of the physical space-time continuum. At the same time, I want to immerse people directly in art, instead of merely confronting them with works of art. The sensual closeness of the multisensory stimulation necessary for this stems from the deep human need for touch, emotion and security.

ARCHAIC AND FUTURISTIC

I like to combine futuristic aesthetics based on modern medial technology with a primal, archaic effect - namely so that people can have healing, sensual primal experiences in the midst of our high-performance society. SinnesRäume are therefore archaic and futuristic at the same time.

INSIDE AND OUTSIDE

With my art I want to sharpen the perception - both inwardly and outwardly: The strengthened connection between the intuitively felt "inner space" of the human being and the materially perceived "outer space" of the world is a core motif of all sensory spaces. With the creative merging of these opposite directions I want to strengthen the holistic resonance: between man and space, between ego and world and between material and immaterial. Often this happens "quietly" ... at the borders of human existence, when pre-natal perceptions are reported or spiritual imaginations from the distant future.

RESONANCE LEADS TO ALLNESS

The principle of superopposites explained here - the connection of traditional opposites to a newly perceptible form of resonance - permeates the aesthetics of SinnesRäume in a decisive way, on many levels, multisensory ... in hearing, seeing, feeling, vibrating, etc. In all my designs I want to make immaterial energy perceptible in material space: Touching spaces. Spatialize touch. In this way, sensory spaces are perceived on the one hand spaceless and timeless, on the other hand full of time and full of space - just FullTime and FullSpace.

In this holistic approach of FullTime and FullSpace lies my own personal secret of sensual design. I call this: Allness. Allness is the feeling when I am All.

MESSAGE OF SALVATION

In a time that likes to focus on the deficits - on what is missing - I understand my SensorySpaces as the herald of a message of salvation to the perceiving individual: "You are everything. Complete. Whole. You are whole. Nothing is missing. Just as you are, you are perfect. And in my sense rooms you can feel that.

CONCLUSION

As an artist, I live the vision of a world in which the primordial human - the own perception - again has a higher value than it is the case today. The sensual and the supersensible felt are the focus of my work. With SensorySpaces I would like to expand people's perceptive abilities and strengthen their trust in their own intuition.
