Development of the Alte Post Vienna into a living house. This project sees itself as an "incubator" for the Stubenviertel in downtown Vienna. SHA.ART is responsible for the artistic design and cultural revitalization of the Neue Alte Post. In the process, a new kind of "museum" is being created - a multi-dimensional media artwork in the historic Dominikanerhof, an immersive 360° Globe Experience. Commissioned by the developer PG8 GmbH (AT). Planned completion 2024.

ALTE POST – NEW INCUBATOR

The Neue Alte Post sees itself as a hub and impulse generator for the development of the Stubenviertel district in Vienna's inner city. The concept is to open up the area, which has been closed for a long time, and to turn the Alte Post into a living house. Previously closed and unused spaces in the middle of the Erste are to become newly accessible in a curated tenant community. The passage through the Dominikanerhof, with 1,250m2 one of the largest courtyards in the city center, will be made accessible to the public. A modern StadtPlatz is to be created here - an agora of the future. This new cultural space in the first wants to act as a cosmopolitan hotspot and also offer avant-garde content through low-threshold access to many people in the open space - as it were everyday.

INVIGORATION THROUGH ART IN EVERYDAY LIFE

The Viennese creative team SHA.ART is responsible for the artistic design and cultural revitalization of the Neue Alte Post. Under the motto "raum durchkunsten" the team around the Viennese artist and perception researcher SHA. develops a contemporary artistic approach to the revitalization of the historic building ensemble. For this purpose, SHA.ART creates a new kind of "museum", which penetrates the historical area at different points with varying intensity, a medial museum not as a static structure, but as a dynamic process. At the center is a multi-dimensional media artwork in the old Dominican Courtyard: an immersive 360° Globe Experience for all senses - opening in 2024.
