THE SENSE OF LIFE [Part #2]

The Life of the Senses
2023

As an ambitious artist collective, we have formed a large international consortium over the past 12 months to address important future questions about the human-AI relationship.

DIGITAL HUMANISM?

The aim of this interdisciplinary collaboration is to build a community of creative people who - starting from art - want to inspire scientists, policy makers and industry actors to ensure that technological development remains in harmony with human interests. In order to achieve an ethically acceptable technological development, it is obviously necessary to define the cultural, social and economic conditions of "digital spaces". Only in this way can we make them accessible as an opportunity for the collective co-construction of a new experience of the world. A utopia of equality and democracy? Yes. Why not? The next attempt ...

»URBAN ART LAB«

In terms of free, equal access to innovation, the role of digital cultural centers is becoming increasingly relevant. They can serve as a showcase into the future and at the same time be a laboratory and prototype of visions in the present.

We are planning such a public laboratory. It will combine the ghostliness of the metaverse and the physicality of the analog world and its inhabitants to bring to life an expanded space where physical people and digital life forms can coexist and collaborate.

THE "VIRTU-REAL" SPACE

Against the background of drastic changes in people's outlook and perception of life, the question of the effect of art on society and on people's everyday lives is becoming increasingly important. In our project we want to investigate the effect of multisensory art, which is created supported by an AI, in analog public space. In other words: The project explores urban space with the help of interactive, multisensory AI art consisting of visual, auditory and sensory-tactile elements.

The project aims to find answers to the big questions of the human-AI relationship - and to interpret them artistically. We are looking for poetic recontextualization of the analog human in relation to the enormous developments of digital ecosystems. And that is our plan:
